Searching for Evidence and Reference Manager

Yogyakarta. With a slightly different background setting, this time taking place at the library room of FKKMK UGM, Cochrane Indonesia's third training event, "Searching for Evidence & Reference Manager (SERM)" delivered by Steve McDonald raised the importance of expertise in finding literature in activities research. There are various reasons for conducting a literature search, including exploring information for the production of evidence-based medical practice guidelines as one step in research methods and becoming part of the academic assessment. A good literature searching skills will allow the participants to determine which literature matches his condition, needs, research, or medical case he or she encounters.


Held on March 7, 2018 from 08:00 to 16:00 pm, the course attended by no less than 45 participants. The last part of the course also introduced the use of Mendeley, a program in reference managers. This material was presented by dr. Guardian Y. Sanjaya, M.Health who focused on how to create citations and bibliography using the program. The training was closed with a handover of souvenirs to Steve McDonald by the Director of Cochrane Indonesia, dr. Detty Siti Nurdiati, MPH, PhD, Sp.OG (K). (*)
