Evidence Summit on Reducing Maternal Mortality (2016 & 2017)

Reported from its official website www.esaipi.org, it is known that Indonesia is still lacking valid data and information about maternal and infant deaths for decades. The Evidence Summit on Reducing Maternal and Neonatal Mortality was a collaboration between the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI) and the US National Academy of Science with the support from USAID. This Evidence Summit serves as an answer to the problem on maternal and infant mortality by collecting relevant evidence, summarizing and synthesizing evidence, and building consensus among stakeholders in establishing valid evidence, interpret and prioritize the action plan in addressing the problem. To improve the qualiy of review, Quantitative Systematic Review Workshop had been conducted by the Core Technical Group from Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Gadjah Mada in September 14-16, 2016 and followed by Qualitative Systematic Review Workshop with speaker from Cochrane Australia, Dr Tari Turner, in May 28-30, 2017. In order to have a good scientific recommendation for the Ministry of Health, the Translation of Evidence Workshop was held in August 28-30, 2017; in collaboration with Cochrane Australia, Prof Sally Green and Dr Steve McDonald.
