Decision in health care can be particularly challenging, because it is involving a complex process of diagnostic and therapeutic logic, patient’s preferences and values and costs. Evidence-based medicine aims to apply the best available evidence gained from the scientific method to clinical decision making or evidence-based practice. However, its application in a daily practice is not simple. It does not only need the presence of best evidence or guidelines at the health care facility, but also willingness of the practitioners, wise thought and good understanding of clinical decision making. This workshop conducted annualy in collaboration with Prof Jeff van de Ende from Intitute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium, to introduce and improve the skill of clinicians in clinical decision making to ensure professional accountability.
