Workshop on Systematic Review Following Cochrane Methods was conducted on 15-17 August 2019 at the Golden Tulip Hotel Makassar, Indonesia. This workshop was held by the Faculty of Medicine Hasanuddin University, with invited speakers and facilitators from Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine (CEEBM) Unit Faculty of Medicine University of Indonesia – Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital as a representative of the Cochrane Indonesia. The facilitators in the workshop were dr. Indah S. Widyahening, MS, MSc-CMFM, PhD; Dr. dr. Kuntjoro Harimurti, Sp.PD, KGer, MSc; Siti Rizny F Saldi, Apt, MSc; and dr. Eka Dian Safitri, Sp. T.H.T.K.L.
The aim of this workshop was to assist the staff of the Faculty of Medicine Hasanuddin University to write and publish systematic reviews following the Cochrane methods, which will contribute to improve the quality, as well as the quantity of publication from their institution. The first session of the workshop was started with an opening speech provided by the 4th Vice Dean of the Faculty, Dr. dr. Madarina Masadah, Sp.PA(K), DFM. There was 40 academic and medical staff from various study programs participating in this workshop. This 3-day workshop, adopting the teaching structure and materials provided by the Cochrane collaboration, went very well and interactively followed with enthusiasm by all participants in every QA and group work session.
As a result of successful workshop, several topics for Systematic Reviews were proposed. Research protocol will be subsequently conducted by the faculty team to accommodate the conduct of the research. Finally, we excitedly look forward to see many systematic reviews conducted and published by the staff of the Faculty of Medicine Hasanuddin University in the near future.
